+++UPDATE April 2024+++
Today's Henley Standard (April 12 page 7) reports that The Horns, which has been shut for 18 months, has been bought from Brakspear by 'Horns Hospitality', a consortium comprising 37 investors (local residents) for £753,000 to safeguard the "beating heart" of the village. So will be free of tie, they hope to add 3 upstairs accommodation rooms. "But it will be some time before we can reopen the doors."

A historic pub in large grounds, with quality restaurant in an ancient, adjoining barn conversion. Somewhat remote, but less than an hour's gentle amble through the forest from Wargrave (A321) or Knowl Hill (A4), via a variety of routes. Or take a cab from Twyford or Wargrave (not too pricey if there's a few of you!). In summer opens 5.30 weekdays and stays open to 9 on Sundays. Pub quiz every 3rd Tuesday of the month.
